User Interface in Management Software

A time management software were all at the command line, by force, yet we had the DOS and Windows was in its infancy. In these years of work in this branch of the program, I noticed that those who were accustomed to working in the command line, they rarely, if ever, were provided to update your management software. What did not go down was the difficulty of writing quickly moving the mouse. Yeah, because very few know how to use Windows with the keyboard alone. The current situation is that those who have learned to command line do not make it right to use Windows or another operating system with graphical user interface. In the past I have even had to write DOS programs in windows rather than using the full power of the 32-bit and 64 hours of modern systems. Have you ever seen in the large store the most popular? AS400 on terminal window (Client Access) in Windows, a waste of resources in my view, and especially a lot of time spent on research. We, in fact, have a list of thousands of inventory items and want to find one with a specific description. With a command-line management software must know the code, or at best the beginning of the description, but let’s say that you forget what it’s called the article, will certainly not be able to find anything. In a Windows program but you can load into memory a list of inventory items that can be displayed in a popup list, certainly much more convenient than almost nothing of the program at the command line. At this point some of you will wonder if the RAM memory can be an obstacle to that would be charging hundreds of thousands of articles you could fill it. In truth, this problem has been solved with the use of virtual lists, which I use in my software management fee. A virtual list, also the combo boxes, in fact, records show only a dozen at a time, as you scroll through the list makes the program will load the next ten or twenty records from the database, this obviously involves a waste of ram very low. My management software to pay indeed occupy at most a few hundred megabytes of ram. I believe in having a GUI management software is very important to work extremely well and so I always made available, even for free, my programs, so as to stimulate the use of this type software in business, not just at home. Up to now I have issued free of charge only applications in Access, but now I’m working on a wonderful project through which everyone can have a free software inventory of new generation, with advanced GUI, which so far had included only software on my pay.
The controls are the ones with the Office ribbon bar, in the case management software fits very well, because you can divide the various sections of the application.
My work will always pay attention to the future, hoping that even the GUI management software is at the same time, nice to see and above all easy to use.
