Style Templates in Microsoft Word

Those who use Word to format the characters work very well known, but many do not know or have never wanted to study the models with the styles for paragraphs. In this article I will explain in detail how to set the styles for paragraphs and get that whole structure of the document, then save the template for reuse in other documents. Let’s take a simple example of relying on a book that must have “Chapters”, “Titles” and “Sub-Titles, ” all follow a hierarchy, then the chapter with the Roman numeral following the title and the bold sub-title italic indented one tab from the title. Like that:

Chapter I

Preface
Start the book…

To do this we go to the Format menu and then Styles and Formatting, depending on the version of Word will have the appearance of the default styles. At this point we do new style, a window where we can enter the style name, type (paragraph would we choose), based on another style, from which inherits the basic information and then the style for the next paragraph. This paragraph is inserted in Word when you click the send button and go to new line (paragraph is the space between two items), so the last feature of the style makes after entering a line and I click on submit automatically change the style to the one selected in this field. Then I can enter the characteristics of the font, font, size, and more as if it were simply a text to format. It should first do the styles of low level so as to fit within the scope of new paragraph, so in our example we will do the first with plain text such as Times New Roman 14 point and justified to give it the name “miotesto,” then let’s create another style with the same font, but in any size with greater emphasis and a return (tab) and this will be our sub-title, the name as “miosottotitolo” and defines the style for following paragraph “miotesto” do the maybe doing the same with the title and making bold style after “miosottotitolo” and then do the chapter centered in bold, to put the Roman numeral self-incrementante must click on Format at the bottom left of the window to create or edit the style, then click and then click the Numbering tab structure at this point click on Customize … and choose the style number Roman number, then exit and try to use our newly created styles. When I start my book I choose in the upper left (on the Formatting toolbar style from the drop down) “miocapitolo” or whatever you call it, you’ll get hit “Chapter I” and style when you give will send later (in our case “title”) and so on structuring the document.
If we need only the structuring of questions on this occasion, we apply it on the document, or to always have this model, we need to save and choose the file type “template”.
To avoid standing between the old styles of the normal model, we can eliminate them and thus have a model only with our own. When you have structured the document the way I taught you if you go in the View menu and then realize vio document map of the distribution tree on the left and to find a chapter or a sub-chapter will not be so difficult. This approach certainly will not do for letters, but theses, books and other things of that nature. You’ll find the ready-made templates, but now you know even create them yourself.
